Our family has over 100 years of cooking legacy in San Miguel de Allende, our home town, UNESCO World Heritage site, and Travel and Leisure's #3 on list of 10 Best cities to Visit 2016.

Yaya and Don Ricardo, Patricia's parents, pioneered Mexican culinary tourism in 1972, introducing many authors and food editors to our traditional and authentic cuisine and inspiring our "vacations with a purpose". Mexican Traditional Cuisine has been declared intangible World Heritage since 2010.

"A number of years ago, when I was cooking with Don Ricardo and Maria Merrill in their cooking school in Leon Guanaguato, Mrs. Merrill laid out the rice rules" - Rick Bayless, Authentic Mexican Regional Cooking from The Heart of Mexico

San Miguel de Allende, our hometown.

Our Mexican Cooking Vacation takes place in San Miguel de Allende (UNESCO World Heritage Site) in the Mexican state of Guanajuato. Founded in 1542, our town is steeped in colonial history, yet, oddly worldly and cosmopolitan in its present culture and bubbling with an indefinable romance on every cobblestoned street.

We are an artists' colony with azure skies, wonderful weather...and great food! There is lots to see and do with several hot springs for swimming, horseback riding, hiking, including the world-famous Botanical Gardens labeled peace Sanctuary by the Dalai Lama. The shopping opportunities for crafts and decorative items and unique fashion abound, and there are many art galleries and night spots with great music
